10 days in, so I decided to update the blog. I will try to post every Sunday in 2021. I had a very good start to 2021, winning a tournament on NYE. Since then, I had plenty final tables, but unfortunately no wins. Good start to the year allows me to attack higher stakes already and motivates me to work even harder. First 10 days in numbers: Tournaments: 189 + 37 re-entries = 226 Time spent playing: 45 hours Time spent coaching: 13 hours Time spent studying: 19 hours TOTAL: 77 hours 8.5 hours per day Pretty lazy start so far, in terms of hours put and in terms of tournaments played. I would like to average 10 hours per day. I am actually surprised by that, I thought numbers will be higher. It shows that I am not using a time wisely, and a lot of that is not efficient. Being on the computer seems like work, but it's not really work. I will limit the amount of time I spend on Discord from next week. I will check it only twice per day: morning, after the run and night, after the grind. I finished watching BBZ bundle, which I don't include in hours spent on studying, as it's hard to track. I also finished all lectures from Fedor and now I'm watching Igor's toy games, which is a mix of PIO and monkersolver and a bunch of nodelocking vs population, which is definiately more interesting then dry lectures about fundamentals. I really enjoy this type of format so far. I unsubscibed from Netflix, as I don't have time for that BS and poker videos are literally the only videos that I watch right now. Overaggressive play on turns and rivers vs tighter playerpool resulted in positive red line. Something that I don't really focus on, but I started implementing many new things to my game, mostly exploits, and that is the result, so I take it.
Spots that I was focusing on this week in terms of studying are:
We also had a session about investing money, that we do not need in our poker accounts. That portion of the bankroll should be working for itself rather then sitting there and losing value. It was interesting session. I also had 8 hour long review session with friends on Friday. It was good, and I think I will do long sessions like this in the future as well. So, days that I don't play will be for long ass reviews. I was drinking wine and beers, looking at solutions and trying to figure out this game. This is my entertainment in 2021. Today is Pokercode webinar with Matthias and Fedor about shortstack HU play. Let's hope I can put that into practice tonight. GL on the Sunday grind!
