I will be chilling with family and friends in next couple days, so I decided to post a little update as I have more spare time. 2021 started very well for me, I am gradually moving up in stakes, mostly because of low variance games in the mornings. March was no different, pretty steady grind and a lot of work off tables. I miss click registered short deck tournament on GG and somehow managed to come 2nd place, basically just by jamming and calling wide for bounties as EQ run closer together then it does in normal holdem. I think I lost 2 all-ins, and I was in all-in pots for like 20 times. It was fun journey, but I should pay more attention to what I am registering. Sometimes I find myself registering too shortstacked in PKOs, sometimes I register very reg heavy small field daily turbo $100 or $109 on PS. The only good thing that comes with it is gaining more experience playing vs strong regs. Stronger then avarage regs? Playing against regs... My plan for SCOOP and Spring Series is to take it easy. I want to focus on staying healthy in April and focus on grinding, rather then coaching or studying. Time for preparation expired and now it's time to execute. I want to have a good sleep routine, which could be hard because of different times that I will finish my session, but what's very important to me is getting 8 hours of sleep per night. On top of that I will make sure that I do a workout and if I have time I will also go for a run. Diet is already ordered for entire month, so food supply is covered. During the grind I want to focus only on tables, so Discord will be mainly off. Lately I discovered brain.fm, very good music boosting our focus. There is science behind it, if someone is interested go check it out. I can strongly recommend.
In terms of schedule I will not play anything lower then $11 and try to max late reg $11 - $22 games. Main focus will be on $55 - $150 buy-in range and possibly if things go well at the beginning I will add $215 - $250 to the mixer. After the SCOOP is over, doesn't matter with what bankroll I end up the series with, we will change couple things: - buy and start working with both simple preflop and simple 3way - consider getting PIO2 - buy and start working with DTO preflop and DTO HR tier - join daily BBZ seminars - increase coaching rates to limit the interest. I want to focus on my play rather then coaching - buy both tracker and advanced HUD for hand2note and start using it for both range research and as a main in game HUD - potentially get a server to run more complex spots (right now, because of kindness of a friend, we are running 60bb sims, and I had a brief look at them and I have to say that it's very helpful to have deeper stacked poker solved as it's completely different to short or mid stack) Pandemic is going crazy here, we are in heavy lockdown and my move to Malta doesn't look great. I really want to wait until things come down a little and I don't need to be quarantined or anything like that. I also don't want to move there for a summer, as it's not the greatest time of a year to be there. Moving there for WCOOP would be good, but it depends on many factors. I wish you all best of luck during series and don't forget to take hot showers, drink coffee and treat yourself to a glass of wine after the long grind.
